This is a special selectively lit Dead Front Capacitive Touch Keypad. When the LEDs are off, the glass looks black. Not even a faint sign of the icons. When the LEDs light up the icon you don't see any light bleed into the neighboring icon.

Vagabond Vending approached Blue Sparq, Inc. to build them a universal vending machine telemetry device, which they named Insight. The Insight telemetry device communicates inventory and transaction information to the Vagabond database software.
With this telemetry hardware and database software a vending operator can see in real time what was purchased from their vending machine, what the inventory levels are, as well as how much money is sitting in the machine.
